I swapped to the ZX-1 after seeing just how beautiful it looks in some builds by YouTube channels. Previously I have a full tower case with water cooling and the ZX-1 is just as quiet if not quieter. It even fits my Zotac Trinity RTX 3080 (with some trimming of the Zotac's fan shroud).
The most beautiful ITX case I had seen so far. Great workmanship, details are superb and every components that is meant to be in an ITX fits well. Layout is good and temperature also good in both load and idle. Was using it with Corsair SFX PSU, Gigabyte X570i motherboard, and Ryzen 5600x. The long GTX1080 strix also fit great.
This case is pretty compact and really well made. The colors are uniform throughout, but my Gray seems a bit more blue than expected. The top panel is a bit tight, but still able to remove by hand. My only real disappointment come from the fact that it is 10.5 inched tall rather than the shown 10 inched in the specs- that forced me to change my whole desktop setup. In the end, I am happy with the product and would recommend it to others
Amazing build quality ✨✨
Great build quality and fitment. The instructions were clear, all required tools were included and extra sets of screws were neatly packaged in a plastic container. The case's acoustic performance is good as I have not experienced any resonance or discord at moderate fan speeds, however I did not manage to use a full size 25 mm height fan at the bottom position, as the cable slack from the PSU (Corsair SF750 Platinum) pressed onto the fan grille I had mounted as a precaution. A slim fan will be needed. A custom length ATX-cable could prevent this interference. Both the PSU and CPU pull air directly from the side panel, and my i5-10600K is sufficiently cooled with a Scythe Big Shuriken 3. 2-2.5 slot graphics card with the standard height of 11 cm fit perfectly, but taller graphics cards such as the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X with its 14 cm prevents the usage of two 120 mm fans at the top of the case. One could instead replace one of the fans with a 92 mm fan to accommodate the graphics card's power connectors. I tried mounting a deshrouded MSI 2070 Super Gaming X Trio without success as the card's heat pipes extended too far. The PSU bracket allow for installing a SSD behind the PSU, however it is tricky to later on lift and re-install the top bracket with fans as the cables to the front panel connectors will clash with the SSDs power and data cables.
Great case! not to hard to build into it. Great space for 2.5 slot GC. Would be better if pcie4 riser would be included.
I have spent a great deal of time looking for the perfect case for my build - and only recently became aware of the ZX-1. This case was perfect in size for what I wanted, and could accommodate all I was looking for, and I opted for the water cooling version in matte black, although the blue and green versions also appealed to me strongly. My ZX-1 build is finally complete: an MSI Z490i with i5 10600K and 32GB sharing one side with the EVGA GM 650, the other side sporting an ASUS RTX 3070 EKWB edition and DDC pump on a custom loop cooling everything via a 240mm slimline radiator. With custom cables there was just enough space for a third 120mm fan at the bottom. Being an SFX case everything was VERY tight. The ZX-1, however, allows itself to be dismantled into all the component parts: with a bit of planning this made the assembly relatively painless. The fact that all panels are a solid thick aluminium and manufactured to narrow tolerances ensured that everything slides together effortlessly even after the 20th variation is tried. The magnetically mounted perforated side panels provide just a hint of what is inside (with its RGB lighting). The included tool box (in matching small form factor of course) proved indispensable. A few minor complaints or improvements: - The black paint is not very robust, and despite being very careful a couple of very small scuffs are present after the repeated assemblies - but these are only noticeable if you know where to look. - The position of the EVGA PSU's on/off switch and the design of the mounting bracket required a set of spacer washers to prevent the bracket from interfering with the switch - other PSUs have the same switch position, and I would imagine would have the same problem. A set or rubber grommets solved the problem, and possibly result in reduced vibration too. - No mounting screws for the PSU were provided - also not with the PSU. Given the thickness of the mounting bracket, standard screws would probably not have worked, and with the grommets I had to source my own - My GPU is one slot wide, the opening in the case two. No blanking plate was provided - so I bought a standard black cover on e-bay which works perfectly. My ZX-1 now has pride of place on my desk (the benefit of the form factor!) where I admire it on a daily basis. Thank you IQUNIX for a fantastic product!
Overall a great case that I'm very happy with, but with some pretty big caveats. First off, the all metal construction, while extremely solid, also has the issue of being very tricky to build in. There's zero give in any of the materials so you have to struggle at times. The area I struggled the most was with the GPU I was trying to use. Definitely measure the height of your GPU since this seems to be the most important consideration when trying to fit it. I assumed, naively, that the length would be the most important due to it being a vertical installation but no, taller GPUs will hit up against the top of the system and even with braided cables, will not allow you to install it correctly. I had to switch out GPUs in order to finish my build. Finally, I bought the white/red combo and in real life the red is not nearly as vibrant as the photos will have you believe. It very much just looks like unfinished painted metal (which it is) which detracts a bit from the expensive nature of the case. Saying all that though, I do love the size of the case and thermals have been... manageable. It's a great looking case and I don't regret purchasing it, but definitely keep in mind the considerations I've outlined above if thinking about buying.
The case is obviously well built, unfortunately there are some minor tolerance issues. The left and right magnetic side panels do not sit perfectly flush with the main case (one is slightly protruding from the body of the case and one is slightly sunken). That being said, I still like the case, and will likely build some makeshift spacers such that these side panels at least sit in a symmetrical manner.
Just perfect. On the smaller size. Good material. Easy to build. Eye catching ! You can check my review : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2STPeJdxPbs
This mini-itx case looks amazing. The metal construction is good, the small footprint make it stand out. Building in this case is not simple, you need to take it apart (many times), and its difficult to fit everything inside. The screw quality could be better, after screwing without much force, it will get damage and black paint is gone. The case is also sharp, be careful not to damage your PSU cables. Overall I give 7/10 for this case, unfortunately this sandwich stile is not so good for 3080TI FE, there is no room for the graphic card fan, since its 2mm from the middle metal divider. The room on the bottom of the power supply could be 10mm taller, it would make life easier to add slim 12mm fan and increase air flow. It took around 1 month from purchase and delivery to Germany, quite good. Unfortunately one of the magnets was broken. If IQUNIX makes and version of this case, for Founders Edition cards, I would buy it again.
Awesome case, was looking for something SFF with AIO support. Found it in IQUNIX ZX-1. Would love few more millimetres of space behind Psu to hide cables easier. Overall great build quality
Love the aesthetic. Not quite hard to build. Should use 1 hex screw size. And if side panel can remove easier would be great in V2.
Very amazing mini itx chasis that i've ever try ! Best small form factor and ventilation is great. Temperature of gpu (palit rtx 2080 ti dual) never get higher than 65 degrees ! Also cpu ( ryzen 2700x with stock cooler ) never get higher than 60 degree. Obviously with the case open. The quality of material, color and lavoration are great. Only don't have a right space for hdd 2,5"... positition betwen psu and gpu is not the best for cable managment, anymore the temperature of hdd stil not over 40 degree. Sorry for my bad english.
Great case, beautifully machined aluminum. Worth the price and the wait. I have the black water cooler version, running an EVGA xc3 3070 and a intel 10900k with a fractal AIO. Using a m.2 drive as main and opted for using a noctua intustrual fan instead of an the extra hard drive. Shocked with how normal the temps are for such a small case. IT was a fun build, yet the size made it challenging. I thought I could get by without reading the instructions as it’s pretty straight forward design, but found out the hard way the order in which the pieces go in is very important, so follow the manual. Build took me two attempts, 1st to get everything in and ensure post, 2nd to optimize wire management. As other mentioned the case is painted black and doesn’t have an abrasion resistant coating, be very careful not to scratch. Not very visible closed, but the paint already started to wear in the corners of the side piece from take on and off several times. I also ended up ordering custom PSU cables as the stock ones were too long and stiff to fit in this case with the extra case fan. I’d imagine this wouldn’t be as much of a problem with a Ssd there.
Love this case! Fantastic build quality, beautiful design, an absolute pleasure to work with. By far the best looking and feeling Mini ITX case on the market. The one drawback of this case is that the 3080 FE (specifically the FE) causes pretty serious thermal issues as there is no space in between the GPU’s exhaust and the PSU/Mobo. That being said, the build quality and design of the case outweighs these issues and I’ve seen better results after adding an extra fan and replacing the PSU bracket with one that allows a pocket in between the PSU and 3080 FE’s exhaust fan. Overall I would absolutely recommend this case, just be ready to tinker if you have a 3080 FE.
The case looks great! The main draw is obvious the unique design and tiny foot print. Quality of the aluminum panels are very good, the painted finish is generally good, but there are some inner edges where it's uneven. Thankfully those are not in very visible places. Clearances are tight as expected in typical ITX sandwich case, but I didn't have too much issues putting the system together otherwise. Airflow is good and the system is kept quiet and cool even at load. Ideal air flow setup is to have CPU cooler fan set to intake fresh air from side panel, and have the two top case fans set to exhaust. Some of the issues I ran into that potential buyers might want to be aware of: -The included mobo screws just didn't work with securing the mobo to the standoffs as they are too long. But the included extra short screws worked fine once I added in some washers. -The riser cable is PCIE gen 3. If you have a newer PCIE gen 4 graphics card, you need to set it in bios as gen 3 speed, otherwise it won't post. Hopefully, this is something Iqunix can provide in the future.
Still waiting on my motherboard so I can finish this build. But I'm extremely pleased with the aesthetic of this case so far. I look forward to installing the rest of my components.
ji hong k.
well it is always hard to builing sff case this case is really good at more little bit bigger than other a4 size case with water cooling that's why i choose this anyway if you consider more space for next gen gpu just choose this
Packaging is great! Easy to build with. Instructions manual is easy to follow. I just wish the screws were all Phillip screws. Other than that, it's perfect!
Great space optimized case design. Unmatched simplicity and beauty. Much better thermal performance than expected. Thoroughly impressed down to the tiniest detail. The fit and finish are also incredible. I've never seen a case that was machined to this level of precision, not even close.
Great case! Had some trouble getting it together and the panels on the side don’t quite fit flush but it’s super well made and I am really glad I got one!
Being my first ITX build it was challenging and very rewarding. Beautiful case, great finish. Delivery was fast. Only caveat is the three different screw types but a screw driver with multiple heads is provided. In short I love it.
Bought it and received it in about two weeks in the US. The finish is almost perfect, fitting components was slightly hard, but I managed. The GPU clearance of 45 mm is kinda weird as my Sapphire Pulse 5700XT (48 mm wide) would easily fit inside if not for one piece in the corner of the case that is just there to be a continuation of a screw post. Had to sand my card a bit down. Otherwise, great looking case.
Really solid case! The unibody makes it worth the price and the paint finish is beyond beautiful. The manual has some things sorta wrong, like the recommended motherboard screws doesn’t secure it to the chassis, you’d need to use the black hex screws instead. Other than that, the case always leaves a smile on my face when I see it. At $219USD, it’s priced competitively against the NCase M1 in which this provides a good alternative if you favor a more minimal and streamlined design. Love it!
It is a bit on the pricey side but it is a very good case. Overall I am satisfied with this one. One improvement point is to standardize the screw for the case, as right now you will need to change the screwdrivers multiple times while building. Keep up the good work, Iqunix!
This case is very well machined. Clearances are near perfect. The overall simplicity of this case is amazing and beautiful. Perfect for my iTX hackintosh. I first thought the case was anodized however it is painted. This does not matter though since the finish is great. As for cons, there is not a lot of room for cables from the PSU. Especially no where close to enough room for a 3rd fan or an extra ssd. I had a bit of issues fitting my 8/6pin GPU chords to where they didn’t hit the fan. However I ordered some 180 degree adapters and they work well. I wish there was just a bit more room. However, the PSU having two option height positions was VERY helpful. Last con would be the lack of built in ways to remove the side or top panels. They can be VERY difficult to remove and I think a small lip on the back of the side panels would be a great addition so it is easier to remove. I technically have a “defect” in the way my side panel was made (one side of my panel does not fit flush), however this allows for me to pry it open and get access to the inside. Overall a very well designed case and well worth the price.
A challenge to build in but highly rewarding in terms of looks!
Arrived on time, very good instructions, simple building, good fit and finish, very happy with it. Feels super high quality and well built. 2 fans on top and my temps are awesome. (80 ish gaming)
A beautiful case! Clear instructions and easy to assemble. I highly recommend!
The quality is as good as the price. It's a small size, but you can even use 3080 FTW3. But Hex screw is uncomfortable to assemble and it is inconvenient because there is no handle on the panel.
Super sleek and sturdy!!
